The cape worn by St Felix of Schüren, mended by Guaibimpará, a Tupinambá woman baptized into the Church by Father Luis Bahamonde. She embellished it with featherwork to cleverly conceal leftover seams from previous efforts to repair the once-torn fabric.

These feathers achieved their colors with blood - not by being dyed, but by growing from skin soaked with the blood of another creature. The miracles of St Felix often have him shed blood upon the earth to bring forth a new spring, its waters tinged with red-gold and tasting of salt. Drinking from them could bring great fortune, according to his worshipers, though any who have tried often fall into the spring and subsequently drown.
