Against Anchorites

The Inquisitor Adán Menéndez long decried the alliance the Company Anchorite forged with the Curicuillorians, who he calls ‘Incan witches’. This work attempts to prove that the friars of the Colegio not only carried on practices of the Fourfold Realm, but that they worked to perpetuate them worldwide.

I’m Reading…

Menéndez writes thoroughly on the veneration the Fourfold Realm placed upon their noble dead, enshrining their remains and seeking their silent wisdom. He thoroughly derides it as ‘clinging to Splendor proven false.’ Were he still around, he might be aggrieved to see the Church continue worshiping the dead and divided Sun.

I’ve Read…

Menéndez accuses the Company of serving a long-dead anchorite, with any other admitted anchorites being mere sacrifices for their deceased master. He likens it to the mountaintop entombments performed in the Fourfold Realm, but is careful to avoid mentioning how they were dedicated to the Begging Sun, the power the Church knew as the Sun-in-Rags.
