The Penumbral Prudence

Much of the adept Arrettrez’s work was burnt alongside him in Évreux during the 15th century, but these fragments of his studies survived.

I’m Reading…

Arrettrez was maligned by various Inquisitors as a ‘traitor of Day’ for his commerce with unsanctioned Hours behind and below the world. His notes point towards an obsession with the Rising Spider, the Nowhere Hour of fate, ambition, and control.

I’ve Read…

Arrettrez claims the Rising Spider to be a beneficiary or even a collaborator of the Mansus-Hours, who often deny the legitimacy of the gods-from-Nowhere.
