Saavedra describes undiscovered species of fungi native to the Haustorium, matching their emergence to tragedies in its history. One of them, the New Haustoria Root, is called ‘the courtier and king’ of these numerous species. He identifies the throne at the Colegio’s peak to contain ‘the heart of the Haustoria’, and believes a blow could be dealt against its influence if rites of Abjuration and Limitation were performed before it. However, he is hesitant to acquire the specimen necessary to do so, having witnessed it ‘devour greater hearts’ than his.
